Step by step.

Everything you need to get started and to work with Finaure every day. Explained briefly and ready to use.

Investments

In the Investments area you keep track of your fund and direct investments: key figures, liquidity forecast and the management of individual positions in one place.

Overview

At the top of the page you see four key figures: Total value, Paid-in capital (realised), Open capital calls and Distributed (total), all calculated live from your positions.

Below this, SmartPortfolio shows you a forecast for open commitments over the next 12, 24 or 36 months. You switch between scenarios (e.g. “All open commitments within 12 months”) and see immediately whether your liquidity is covered.

The cash flow timeline summarises paid, open and distributed amounts by year and shows the next due dates.

Use the 12 M / 24 M / 36 M buttons in the SmartPortfolio forecast and the year buttons in the cash flow timeline to switch quickly between periods without reloading the page.

Creating a new investment

Click New investment at the top right and first choose the type. Depending on the type, different fields are available:

  1. Choose Direct investment (e.g. a share in a GmbH, GbR, KG or AG).
  2. Enter the name and entity (required fields).
  3. Optional: Share (%), Total company value, Currency and Legal form.
  4. Click Create new investment.

The new entry appears immediately in the All investments table and in the SmartPortfolio overview.

Editing an investment

The Edit row action opens the complete master data: valuation (NAV), fund data, capital calls, performance figures (TVPI/DPI/RVPI/IRR), term and payment account.

The As of field (under Valuation) uses the DD.MM.YYYY format. Enter only the digits, e.g. 15082026. Finaure adds the full stops automatically to give 15.08.2026. Full stops typed yourself are not supported.

Filtering and searching

In the All investments table you can filter with a single click:

In the cash flow timeline you can additionally filter by year or choose Total.

Further actions per row

  • Add cash flow: records a new capital call or distribution.
  • Tasks: links the investment to a task.
  • Delete entry: removes the position permanently.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I not see any entries under the “Investments” filter?

The filter shows only positions of the type Direct investment. Fund and PE positions are listed under Private equity.

How is the investor IRR calculated?

Money-weighted from capital calls and distributions, with the current NAV as the final value. It is not comparable with a time-weighted securities account return and does not constitute investment advice.

What should I do if an action stops with an error message?

Reload the page and try again. If the error persists, contact the Finaure team via the contact page.
